"At Gain Focus, we have three fundamental goals when working with Young People... Educate, Inspire & Achieve."

We have put together a unique project for young people from 5-16 years who are currently missing out on their learning, or who are at risk of exclusion from an educational setting. Now, we are looking for Learning Mentors to help us make a difference...

Briefly, what your role would entail...

As part of our forward thinking and outcome orientated Learning Mentor team you'll be responsible for building consistent, professional and positive relationships with 11-16-year-olds who are Currently Missing Education (CME) or are at risk of becoming CME.

Working on a one to one basis, you would then utilise these positive relationships with your mentees to help ensure they, initially engage with, and then continue to attend our programme.

At Gain Focus our goal is to improve the wellbeing and engagement of young people with a background of SEMH. Experience and or knowledge of working specifically with SEMH is essential for us. When you've gained at least 6 consecutive weeks experience (voluntary work still counts, as long is it is referenced) we would be happy to consider your application.

At Gain Focus we have a stringent compliance and referencing process. A recent history (at least 6 weeks within the past three years) of working with compulsory education age children is essential in this line of work.
